Regency Mall

After a quick visit to Target this morning, I decided to explore its neighbor, the Regency Mall. The Regency Mall is the only shopping mall in Racine, and it boasts such fantastic department stores as Burlington Coat Factory and Sears. There is nothing at all appealing about the place, and if it weren't for this blog, I don't think I would have bothered going inside.

But I'm an explorer now...

My first thought upon entering the mall was that it is identical to Richmond Mall on Wilson Mills in Cleveland (actually, Richmond Heights). From the outside, it looks as pathetic as Randall Park (in North Randall, Ohio), but the inside isn't so bad. There were a lot of store fronts that were closed, but the facility was clean and relatively welcoming.

I started at the Boston Store, the equivalent of a lower tier Macy's. I wasn't really interested in shopping, but I saw a sign for Clinique, and I couldn't resist. Since I have absolutely no access to Murad and Laura Mercier here, I have had to take it back to my preteen days for skincare. The Clinique saleslady told me some old wives tale about how a woman's body changes every seven years, and you have to reevaluate your skincare routine during the transition, and since I just turned twenty-one, the seven year cycle would explain my problems. It may sound ridiculous, but I've decided to believe it, just like I believe that eating crust on a sandwich gives you curly hair.

I also hit up the 50% off sale at Talbots because I can't resist a sale. Otherwise, this mall is a teeny bopper's paradise, but it is not really suitable for grown people. They had American Eagle, Aeropostale, Charlotte Russe (I've never seen one in real life), and other sketchy stores like Journeys. And for my A-cup sisters out there, they have a pretty large Victoria's Secret. Obviously, I didn't enter, but it seemed well organized from the outside.

You don't have to go all the way to Chinatown for a knock-off. So exciting!
I might return for the glow-in-the-dark mini golf (I'm feeling a comeback) or if I decide to sign up for the Armed Forces, but this is not worth any sort of effort unless you have a penchant for Foot Locker. If I was desperate, I could stop by The Limited, but with a J.Crew easily accessible in Kenosha, there isn't much point to the Regency Mall.
