I honestly feel like I've wasted my life away this weekend. If I was at home, my mother would be scolding me for being so lazy. In my defense, it's really foggy out today and it was supposed to storm yesterday (it didn't actually storm, so that probably doesn't count). I just don't have the energy to accomplish anything. I slept on the couch last night because I didn't feel like making my bed. Pathetic.
Even though it doesn't feel like I did anything, I actually had a few new experiences. After work on Friday, Jessica and I went to
Laguna Nails for a mani/pedi. We invited Dan to join us of course, but he declined. I've been wanting to get my nails done for a while, and it was fun to hang out with Jessica one-on-one since we are usually in a group. There was a wedding party there at the same time, so Jessica and I listened in on their conversations. Here's hoping my wedding party gets ready at a spa instead of a random nail bar in a strip mall. It wasn't the best manicure I've ever gotten, but it was only $35 for both mani/pedi, so who am I to complain?
In the evening, Joe, Maya, and I went to dinner at
Pink Magnolia. We had our intern service event on Thursday where local restaurants donated food, and the bruschetta from Pink Magnolia looked delicious, so we decided to visit. After I professed my love for balsamic, Joe asked me one of the hardest questions of my life, and I've been thinking of it ever since: If I had to choose between no more balsamic and no more weddings, which would I choose? It's like my personal Sophie's choice. I chose balsamic, but Joe might be right that I couldn't live without weddings in my life. I missed my cousin's wedding this weekend, and now that I'm seeing pictures, I think he must know me better than I know myself. Luckily, I don't have to make those kinds of tough decisions. I can even have balsamic at my wedding!

| If I had to give up balsamic, this bruschetta wouldn't exist. Could I really live in such a world? |
We had big plans on Friday to hit the casino and lose a bunch of money, but we postponed that to next weekend when more people will be able to join. Instead, Dan, Joe, Maya, and I decided to check out the new bar on Main Street called
Envi. It's owned by the same people as Ivanhoe's, but it was designed to a be a "
green-themed ultralounge".
 |
| Please note the mood lighting. And the completely unnecessary classy outfits - but don't the guys look nice? |
My boss is friends with the owner, and he recommended that we check it out. Envi is a really cool space with three floors and an outdoor section. I really liked the design and the raspberry mojito, but it might be a little too big for Racine. It didn't get very crowded for most of the night, and the dance floor was completely empty. Dan tried to change the music for me, but he was scolded for touching the equipment, so I had to deal with random music. Of course, that didn't stop me from dancing. At least I wasn't alone this time!

| Delicious raspberry mojito (don't worry - I'm legal!) |
Last night, we went to the
Keno Drive In with the intention of seeing Harry Potter and Horrible Bosses. However, my daytime running lights wouldn't turn off, and you need the radio on to hear the movie. We got through most of Harry Potter when the car stopped running on battery, and then we annoyed everyone in our vicinity with the lights on. We ended up leaving before Horrible Bosses started, so it was kind of disappointing.
 |
| The man in that truck was mad at me. I'm sorry! |
It was my first time at a drive in, and I think it will be my last. We made these
snacks for the movie to make the drive in experience complete, but I feel like the car isn't the most comfortable place to sit to watch a movie, and clearly the car battery thing is an issue. We saw someone else having to jump their car when we were leaving. It just isn't as awesome as you think it will be. Lesson learned.

| At least our movie snack was yummy! |
Shudda gone to Madison...
