Buckets Pub

Buckets Pub on Lathrop Avenue

Joe and his friend Mike went to Buckets Pub on Saturday to experience the best wings in Racine (according to the Journal Times, best publication in the world). Maya, Joe, and I went back last night to check it out. Buckets is on Lathrop about halfway between Washington and Durand.

All sports, all the time.
Buckets has a relaxed vibe, with TVs on every inch of the wall and friendly locals. You seat yourself, order and pay at the bar, and wait for them to bring your food. It is kind of the perfect location for an after work event because you order for yourself and can leave whenever you want.

What an extensive menu...
Maya and Joe got wings, which I tasted and enjoyed, and I got chicken fingers because I am a child. Without fail, if chicken fingers are available, I will choose them. My chicken fingers, fries, and root beer cost $9. What?! Yes. I am going to be so upset when I have to start paying real money for my food again (it doesn’t count as spending if it costs less than $10).

These chicken fingers are the kind meant for children. Not like Chancery.
While we ate, Joe taught me and Maya the ins and outs of fantasy football. Now that I know what it's all about, I don't understand the wives on The Marriage Ref who hate it so much. I'm not a huge fan of football - I appreciate the people watching more than the game itself - but I think I would enjoy it much more if I was more invested in the outcome. Of course, my husband probably wouldn't let me join his fantasy league (rightly so, he needs his friend time), so I take it back. Now I'm mad that he's excluding me. I'm awfully understanding of my theoretical husband, aren't I?

20 wings, 40 napkins, 1 sloppy Joe (still mad we didn't think of that).
Joe also got us some fried cheese curds, and they were delicious. They are essentially the same as mozzarella sticks, but better. Is there anything better than fried cheese? Correct answer: absolutely not. I feel like I understand Wisconsin on a deeper level now.

Fried cheese curds are genius. Thank you, Wisconsin.
P.S. Sierra and I went through Dan’s desk yesterday to see what he left behind (by which I mean I went through his desk and Sierra watched, duh). Along with headphones, a plastic cup with jagged-edged straw, and copious notes (max ten pages), we found this masterpiece. What an artist.
